Equisential Performance Short Shank Bit with a Dogbone mouthpiece is an excellent choice for those transitioning from a D-Ring or O-Ring snaffle. This bit is soft on the bars as well as the horse’s mouth featuring a cheek size of 5″ and a mouthpiece size of 5 1/8″.

Be sure to fit this bit with one wrinkle in the horse’s mouth and a loose curb strap to allow for 2-3 fingers.

NOTE: This bit will rust as it is designed to create a sweet taste in the horse’s mouth and promote salivation.
